Here are some indications that your pet may be in pain or distress or close to death:
- Not eating or drinking
- Rapid or open mouth breathing
- Profuse vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Decreased responsiveness to stimuli, people or other pets in the household
- Hiding
- Reluctant to move or walk
- Crying or other forms of vocalization indicating severe pain
- Comatose or severe lethargy
- Uncharacteristic aggression
- Fecal or urinary incontinence
- Pale, white or blue gum color
