Here are some indications that your pet may be in pain or distress or close to death:

• Not eating or drinking
• Rapid or open mouth breathing
• Profuse vomiting and/or diarrhea
• Decreased responsiveness to stimuli, people or other pets in the household
• Hiding
• Reluctant to move or walk
• Crying or other forms of vocalization indicating severe pain
• Comatose or severe lethargy
• Uncharacteristic aggression
• Fecal or urinary incontinence
• Pale, white or blue gum color
